Grid tied inverters provide power via solar panels. However when the grid (mains supply) is down the grid tied inverter will no longer provide power (not like hybrid inverters). Grid tied inverters can also send excess power generated back to the grid. Refer to NRS 097-2-1 for a list of all approved grid tied inverters.
